COMBINATION OF TRAMADOL AND DIAZEPAM FOR LABOR PAIN RELIEF

Abstract

To evaluate the effect of combination of tramadol and diazepan on labor pains labor process, fetus and newborn baby condition and puerperal bleeding, 240term pregnancy and normal primlpara with single fetal, vertex presentation was observed from July 1995 to July 1996. These women were randomly divided into three groups, group 1 (tramadol 100mg in and diazepan 10mg, iv), group 2(tramadol 100 mg im)and group 3(control group, NS, 2ml im). all the medicines and NS were administered when the cervix were dilated to 2～3 cm. The results showed: the analgesic effect of group 1 was significantly better than that of group 2. The labor processes of group 1was shorter and the puerperal bleeding of group 1 was less than that in group 3. Among the three groups the conditions of newborn had no significant difference. These results indicated that using tramadol combincd with diazepam is satisfactory for the control oflabor pain
