Abstract
Costume represents the key cultural symbol and silent speech arts inheritance of an ethnic group as well as one of the significant signs to distinguish it from other ethnic groups.During the long history development process,the Tujia ethnic group develops its costume with peculiar ethnic and cultural features,which integrates paintings,dyeing technology,embroidery,stitching,spinning and so on.The article attempts to probe into the Tujia ethnic traditional costume in the perspectives of its evolution,intension and cultural symbols in the hope of developing and inheriting it.
