Abstract

Objective: To study the effect of microstructure and function by estrogen on vagina and oviduct's in ovariotomy rats.Methods: SD(3~6 month) rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: sham operation group,ovariecotomized group and ovariotomy and estrogen group.The last two groups were ovariotomied.The ovariotomy and estrogen groups were injected with estradiol by muscle for 30d after ovariotomy.The animals were sacrificed,vagina and oviduct of rats in all groups were taken out,after the paraffin sections were mended they were observed under the microscope,and then the thickness of the epithelium of the vagina and oviduct was measured.Results: The vagina and oviduct shrunk,their wall and epithelium became thinner.The cells of oviduct's epithelium became smaller and lower significantly.The thickness of the epithelium of the vagina was compared with the sham group and estrogen group differences were significant(0.01P0.05) and the height of the oviduct's epithelium was also compared(P0.01.) Conclusion: The estrogen can have positive effect on the microstructure of the reproductive duct.
