Abstract
The heat treating process was improved for the malleable cast iron,in accordance with its long annealing period, coarse graphite, residual carbide, lower mechanical properties and limited serve life. The results show that compared with the traditional process, the graphitizing annealing time of new process is saved about 50%,and the microstructures, with uniform fine grain,a lot of graphite nuclei and free from carbide is obtained. The comprehensive mechanical properties are better than those of present international standard.
