Abstract
The paper discusses sources and formation mechanism of microbial gas, thermogenic gas, deep gas and abiogenic gas.Pointing out deferent source, deferent formation mechanism and gas formation environment make various origin types and a non-continue characteristics, support to a broad prospect for investigating and seeking natural gas resources.Reviewing advances in abiogenic natural gas studies and a prospect for abiogenic gas resource.Discussing the mechanism an abiogenic origin via polymerization and kinetic fractionation effects of carbon and hydrogen isotopes.
