Abstract

Shortening word-formation is one of the most important sources for neologism in modern English,especially for those derived from computer and ICT industry,which also plays a prominent and special role in producing ICT English words.This paper discussed the application of shortening word-formation to college English vocabulary.Also the potential productivity in blending is discussed,and changing style in shortening word-formation is reflected.
