Abstract
The paper illustrates the formation of the characteristics of ancient city,Xinjiang,and its components,sums up the role of the characteristics protection of the ancient cities in urban development,and researches the ideas and strategies for enhancing the characteristics protection of ancient cities and the coordinative development of modern urban construction,so as to improve the sustainable development of the historical and cultural famous city.
