Abstract

The paper conducted the test-pit experiment about the effect of different irrigation methods for cotton on soil salinity under drip irrigation in the conditions of irrigation with light saline water against the shortage problem of water resources in arid and semi-arid areas. The experiment designed three irrigation methods:irrigation with fresh water(1.08g/L),light saline water(3.00g/L)and alternative irrigation with fresh water and light saline water(1.08and 3.00g/L),the results show that:when irrigation with fresh water, the effect of soil desalinization is best;when irrigation with light saline water it is better to use alternative irrigation with fresh water and light saline water, which can avoid the soil salt accumulation phenomenon to occur;when irrigation quota was 5 250m3/hm2,in the case of non-alternative irrigation, the salt peak occurred in the 20cm layer;alternative irrigation can move the salt peak to the 40cm layer. The experimental results will provide a theoretical basis for rational utilization of saline water.
