Abstract

Objective To evaluate the accuracy of dual source CT(DSCT)in detecting coronary artery stenosis. Methods The coronary artery imaging data of 32 patients undergoing DSCT and conventional coronary angiography from July,2007 to November,2007.Conventional coronary angiography was taken as gold standard for calculation of diagnostic accuracy.Evaluations had been done concerning the DSCT in detecting the stenosis of coronary artery. Results In the 436 segments of coronary artery(diameter≥1.5 mm)of 32 patients,431 were evaluated by DSCT.The assessment rate was 98.85%.The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of the DSCT in detecting coronary artery stenosis were 99.17%,97.43%,93.70% and 99.67% respectively. The accuracy rate of DSCT in detecting coronary artery stenosis was 95.00%.Statistical analysis using a 2-related χ2 test showed no obvious difference in the discovery of CAD between DSCT and CAG.Also, kappa index(κ=0.930)indicated excellent agreement. Conclusion DSCT provides high accuracy in detecting coronary artery stenosis. It is an useful and non-invasive method in detecting coronary arteries disease.
