Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the diagnosis and treatment of testicular torsion. Methods:The clinical data of 28 cases of testicular torsion were analyzed, with the mean age was 20(the ages from 1 to 35);with 85% of which occurring in patients younger than 20 years;20 cases being in the left side, with the rate of 71%.The time from onset to a definite diagnosis was 6h-20d.Results:All the 28 cases were confirmed by surgery,in which 13 cases were salvaged by an orchidopexy;15 cases treated with orchiectomy. All Contralaleral testicles were performed preventive orchiopexy. Conclusion:The testicular torsion time within 10 hours should have an orchidopexy, the testicular torsion time exceeding 24 hours should have an orchiectomy,Timely diagnosis and treatment are very important for keep the testis alive.Color Doppler Flow Imaging(CDFI)should be considered the primary approach for surotal emergencies.
