Abstract
Using redox inducing system based on K2S2O8-NaHSO3 as initiator,chitosan-acrylamide graft copolymer was synthesized by free radical graft copolymerization.Several factors influencing on the graft ratio and graft efficiency, such as the concentration of K2S2O8 and NaHSO3,the mass ratio of chitosan to acrylamide, reaction temperature and reaction time were studied. The optimum conditions were as follows: c(K2S2O8)=3.0mmol/L,c(NaHSO3)=2.0mmol/L,m(chitosan)∶m(AM)=1∶5,reaction temperature was 50℃,and reaction time was 3.5h.The structure of graft copolymer was characterized by FTIR.At the same time, the flocculation property of this copolymer was also studied. The experiment results indicated that the effect of flocculation of this graft copolymer was better than that of chitosan.
