Abstract
Application of extracorporeal life support(ECLS) has been dramatically increased in the adult critical care.Along with the major advances in the technology of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO) and in the therapy of acute respiratory distress syndrome,ECMO has been increasingly used to support the respiratory system in variety respiratory failures.Recent publications have positioned ECMO in the critically ill adults, especially in acute respiratory failure. This review briefly summarized current literatures of ECMO application in adult respiratory failure.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
