Abstract
An aerobic bacterial strain Alcaligenes sp.F-3-4 was isolated from an acrylic fiber wastewater. It was identified to have phenol-degrading capability after acclimating. The bacterium growth and phenol degradation was measured by UV spectrophotometer.Result showed that lag period was extended when increasing the concentration of phenol. At 35℃ and at log period, the degrading time for 200mg/L phenol was within 36h.The degradation of phenol happened in log period and the optimum conditions were 35℃,pH 7-8 and aeration. The degrading dynamics was well recorded with Monod equation.
