Abstract
The process for preparing cationic flocculant by graft copolymerization of cationic starch and acrylamide was studied and the flocculating property of the copolymer product was determined using oil-containing wastewater. The optimum synthesis conditions were as follows: the weight ratio of acrylamide to cationic starch 3∶1,the initiator dosage of potassium permanganate 0.15%(to weight of acrylamide),pH2~3,reaction temperature 50℃,reaction time 3 h.The flocculation experiment result showed that the optimum dosage of the graft copolymer flocculant was 8 mg/L,COD removal ratio was above 45%.
