Hair removal with Ellipse Flex intense pulsed light system

Objective To examine the hair removal effect of Ellipse Flex intense pulsed light (IPL). Methods 365 patients with unwanted hair were treated with Ellipse Flex IPL system. Each case was treated with appropriate parameters according to the color,diameter and density of the hair at intervals of 40 to 60 days until total clearing was achieved. Results All the patients were well tolerant without anesthesia. The unwanted hairs were wholly removed after 3 to 7 procedures with the total effective rate 96.16%. The hair of axilla, upper extremity, lower extremity and groin has the best therapy effect. After treatment, there were blister in 2 cases and temporary pigmentation 1 case. No long-term pigmentation and scarring happened. Conclusion Ellipse Flex IPL is an ideal and securing hair removal method because of the credible effect, simple and rapid operation, and no serious side effects.
