Abstract

Patients with bacterial infection( 45 cases),virus infection( 43 cases) and non infectious diseases( 41 cases) in the departement of pediatric were collected. The serum PCT value were detected using semi quantitative solid phase immune. Results The positive rate of serum PCT value in the bacterial infection group was significant higher than that in the viral infection group( P 0. 01). The PCT value in the non infection group were not elevated. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value( PPV),and negative predictive value( NPV) of PCT in the diagnosis of neonatal bacterial infection were respectively 93. 33%,90. 69%,91. 30% and 92. 86%.The diagnostic sensitivity, specificity,PPV,NPV of Leukocyte count and classification were respectively 77. 78%,79. 07%,79. 54%,77. 27%. Compared with the serum PCT value, the difference was significant( P 0. 05).Conclusions Serum PCT semi quantitative detection is fast and simple. The effect is better than the peripheral white blood cell count and classification. Therefore,it has important reference value in the diagnosis of bacterial infection and non bacterial infection.
