Abstract

The buffer solutions of C6H8O7 H2O and C6H5Na3O7 2H2O with pH=5 were used for acid stress to measure and analyse the germinality and the growth of radical and plumule of Zoysia japonica seeds. The results showed that the seed germination percentage, germination energy, vigor index and length of radical and plumule were lower and the mean germination time was longer than CK extremely markedly, respectively, which indicated that the acid stress greatly inhibited the germinality and the growth of radical and plumule of Zoysia japonica seeds. The alleviation of acid stress weakened the intimidation effects of acid stress on a certain extent.Irrigating could alleviate the acidity of soil which lead to triumphantly build the Zoysia japonica turf in acid soil.
