The clinical observation of the effects of tears naturale on dry eye in patients after phacoemulsification

Objective To investigate the treatment efficacy and safety of Tears Naturale on dry eye in patients after phacoemulsification.Methods A total of 137 patients suffering from dry eye after phacoemulsification were divided into two groups(group A and group B).Patients in group A were managed with Tobradex(Tobramycin and Dexamethasone Eye Drops),patients in group B were treated with Tobradex and Tears Naturale.Corneal fluorescein staining(FL),tear film break up time(BUT) and Schirmer Ⅰ test were performed at the time of pre-operation;and one day,one week,one months,two months and three months post-operation.Patients' symptoms were also collected.Results At the time of pre-operation and one day post-operation,the results of FL,BUT,Schirmer Ⅰ test and dry eye symptoms displayed no statistical difference between patients in two groups;one week and one month post-operation,BUT in group B was longer than that in group A(P0.01),while the FL value was smaller than that of group A(P0.01),and the patients' symptoms in group A were more severe than that in group B(P0.01);two months and three months after operation,BUT of group B was longer than that of group A(P0.01),FL was smaller than that of group A(P0.01),and the value of Schirmer Ⅰtest and symptoms were not significantly different between two groups.Conclusion At the early stage after phacoemulsification,the tear film is less stable which may promote dry eye symptoms.Management with Tears Naturale can relieve the patients' symptoms,suggesting Tears Naturale is effective for the treatment of dry eye at the early stage after phacoemulsification.
