Abstract
In this paper seeds of Koelreuteria bipinnata, var.integrifoliola were used as test materials to study the effects of the sowing depths on the seed germination and seedling growth. The results showed that the sowing depths affected both the seed germination and seedling growth. When the sowing depths were 1cm、2cm and 3 cm respectively, the germination rates were 83%、73%and71%respectively with the 1cm sowing depth having the highest seedling height annual increment of 70.2 cm and uniform and fastes germination while the 3 cm sowing depth having the lowest germination indexes. The seedling height of Koelreuteria bipinnata var.integrifoliola decreased successively along with the increase of the sowing depth.
