Diagnostic Value of Bone Marrow Cytologic Examination in the Pancytopenia

Abstract

Objective To study the diagnostic value of bone marrow cytologic examination in the pancytopenia. Methods 215 patients with pancytopenia were taken the bone marrow cytologic examination. To observe the bone marrow cells and the presence of specific cell hyperplasia;to observe bone marrow hyperplasia;to observe whether or not granulocytes,red blood cells,giant cells,lymphocytes,plasma cells and reticular cells had reduced or increased. Results 215 patients with pancytopenia who were measured by bone marrow cytologic examination were finally diagnosed as aplastic anemia in 97 cases,accounting for 45.12%;myelodysplastic syndrome in 41 cases,accounting for 19.07%;leukemia in 33 cases,accounting for 15.35%;proliferative anemia in 25 cases,accounting for 11.63%;bone marrow fibrosis in 9 cases,accounting for 4.19%;multiple myeloma in 4 cases,accounting for 1.86%;bone marrow metastases in 4 cases,accounting for 1.86%;uncertain diagnosis in 2 cases,accounting for 0.93%. The diagnosis rate was 99.07%. Conclusion The bone marrow bone marrow cytology can better reflect the organizational structure and cell distribution in order to facilitate the clinical diagnosis,reduce misdiagnosis.
