Integrated transurethral electrovaporization ablation of prostate and transurethral resection of prostate for patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (report of 110 cases)

Abstract

To investigate the integrated method of transurethral electrovaporization ablation of the prostate (TUVP) and transurethral resction of the prostate (TURP) for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). 110 cases of BPH were treated with TUVP and TURP. Followed up for 6 months, the I-PSS and postvoid residual urine decreased, the quality of life score (QOL) and urine flow rate increased significantly after TUVP and TURP. There were no serious complications occurred, the general results were satisfactory. [Conclusions] TUVP and TURP are an effective and safe method to treat BPH.
