Abstract

Linking words with words can form two word orders: negation word +degree word + V (Structure Ⅰ) and degree word + word + V(Structure Ⅱ). Referred to the two structures, there are some differences in syntactic form, semantic features, as well as frequency of use between Mandarin and Xiang dialect. It also forms asymmetric distribution pattern between the two sutures in Xiang dialect.
