Abstract

The population quality and yield structure of winter wheat under different planting patterns(raised bed planting system and the conventional flat planting) were studied using the conventional Layer upon layer cut method. The results based on LAI,solar radiation within the canopy, population and flag leaf photosynthetic rate, and dry biomass accumulation showed that the population function of the raised bed planting pattern was better than the conventional flat planting pattern. The investigation on dry biomass within wheat population testified that the substance of stem per cm was more than that with conventional flat planting,so the quality of the basal internodes and lodging resistance with raised bed planting were better than those of conventional flat planting. The grain yield of raised bed planting was higher than that of conventional flat planting by 11% or more.
