Study on land use and carbon sequestration spatiotemporal dynamics based on GIS——Taking Qitai county as an example

Abstract

In order to explore the dynamic characteristics of land use and the value of carbon sequestration of Qitai county,this paper obtained the land use vector map from 1980 to 2007 by interpretation of remote sensing images. Then it selected landscape index in class and landscape level to analyze the landscape pattern dynamic,and it introduced carbon sequestration and carbon sequestration value model to evaluate the amount of carbon sink and carbon sequestration value of Qitai County. The results showed that: The land use and landscape pattern of Qitai County change significantly during the past 27 years due to the construction land increased year by year,farmland,woodland and grassland increased first and then decreased,water and unused land decreased first and then increased. The amount of carbon sink and carbon sequestration value rose from 84483071t to 84585294t and 88707224600 yuan to88814558700 yuan respectively in this area. It illustrated that land use dynamic make the amount of carbon sink and carbon sequestration value increases,it also showed that the reasonable land use mode can improve the ecological environment,promote the sustainable development of environment and economy.
