Abstract

Objective:To study the relationship of PTEN and MMP-2 protein expression to gastric cancer prognosis. Methods:The expression of PTEN and MMP-2 protein in 64 cases with gastric carcinoma was detected through immunohistochemistry S-P method, among them,33 patients were followed up and studied through multivariate analysis.Cox regression model was used for multivariate analysis. Results:The loss rate of PTEN protein was 21.98% in patients with gastric cancer, the loss rate had a positive correlation with lymph node metastasis, and a negative correlation with survival(P0.05),the survival analysis of Cox regression model revealed that the survival relative risk of patients without PTEN expression was 0.273 times than those with PTEN expression(P0.05).The positive expression rate of MMP-2 protein was 67.85% in the gastric cancer. The high expression of MMP-2 protein had a positive correlation with infiltration level and lymph node metastasis, and a negative correlation with patients survival(P0.05).Besides,radical operation had an obvious relationship with patients survival(P0.05).The survival re-lative risk of patients with non-radical operation was 1.104 times than those with radical operation.(P0.05).Conclusion:PTEN protein could be used as an independent factor for prognosis of gastric cancer, patients with loss of PTEN protein expression have bad prognosis.
