Abstract
The reform of China's political system gains its momentum from the demands of the people as well as economic reform and development. So far, the reform of China's political reform is mainly driven by the demands of economic reform and development. Hence, the delay of the political reform ensues. Therefore, first of all we must set the goals of the political reform according to the pace of economic reform and development. These goals include advancing the reform of the political system, eliminating political corruption, strengthening media supervision and promoting grassroots democratic construction. Besides, the establishment of the long-term goal of the political reform should start from the people's demands for the reform of the political system. Hence, the goals of the political reform should include the reform of the election system, the assurance of human rights and the perfection of the system of the People's Congress and the CCP-led multi-party cooperation system.
