Abstract

Universities used to be upholders of the spirit of humanities,for it is the most valuable spiritual wealth for a university.Our university education today,however,is faced with a crisis of education on humanities.One of the most important reasons is that popular culture has bloomed so rapidly that it has a great impact not only on student behaviors in daily life but also on his personality traits.Lack of education on humanities makes it less efficient to cultivate university student healthy personality. The author proposes that universities should re-cultivate student spirit of humanities to complete the basic mission of higher education.
