The analysis of low vision acuity in early stage after cataract surgery

Objetive To discuss the main cause of low vision in the early stage after cataract surgery and the processing method. Methods 444 cases(444 eyes) cataract underwent cataract extraction from 2008 June to 2011 August in our hospital.A week after operation,the total of vision lower than 0.3 were 144 eyes.The clinical data were retrospectively analyzed to find the reason of low vision. Results In 144 eyes with postoperative vision acuity lower than 0.3,there were the original eye disease in 32 eyes(22.22%),the preoperative complications in 35 eyes(24.31%).and postoperative complications 77 eyes(53.47%).Conclusions Preoperative existing ophthalmopathy and operative complications are the main reason of low vision after cataract extraction.Reducing operative complications and preventing of primary diseases are the main measures to reduce the risk of low vision after cataract extraction..
