Abstract
Objective: To discuss the difference of the effects of the tonsillectomy-dissection and guillotine method with the tonsil-Iectomy dissection and snare method for adults. Method: During the period from 2000 to 2004, 160 patients were operatedtonsillectomy dissection for different reasons. They were assorted into two groups. The first group consists of 90 cases. They were pperated the tonsillectomy dissection and guillotine method. There were 70 patients in the second group who were operated the tonsillectomy dissection and snare method. Result : The bleeding amount of the first group during operation is smaller than that of the second one. On the other side, the operating periods of the first group were generally shorter than that of the other group. Conclusion: Compared with the traditional tonsillectomy dissection and snare method, the tonsillectomy dissection and guillotine method has two important advantages:a little bleeding and shorter periods during the operations for the adults.
