A Study on Income Mobility Based on the increasing Income Inequality

Income mobility problem is a new research area of income distribution.The higher income mobility is an important symbol of social justice.In this paper,we first define the concept of income mobility,and then we classify the income mobility from different aspects: there are relative income mobility and absolute income mobility,intergenerational income mobility and intra-generational income mobility,macro income mobility and micro income mobility;in terms of the measurement approach of income mobility,it mainly includes methods of axiom and welfarism.Finally,we discuss the limitations of current research on income mobility and directions of future research.
