Abstract
Objective: To study the chemical composition of Epimedium koreanum leaves. Methods: The silica gel column chromatography,Toyopearl,Sephadex LH- 20 column chromatography,ODS column chromatography and reversed- phase HPLC chromatography were used to separate and purify Epimedium koreanum and its structures were identified and analyzed through the physical and chemical properties and spectral data. Results: Six flavonoid glycosides were isolated from the dried leaves of 70% of acetone /water extracts, and identified as(1)chrysoeriol- 7- O- β- D- glucuronic acid- 6- methyl ester,(2)apigenin- 7- O- β- D- glucuronide- 6- methyl ester,(3)3',5,7- trihydroxy- 4'- methoxy flavone- 3- O- α- L- rhamnopyranosyl(1 →6)- β- D- glucopyranoside,(4)kaempferol- 3- O- α- L- pranrhamnose base(1→6)- β- D- glucopyranoside,(5)rutin and(6) quercetin- 3- O- β- D- galactose- 7- O- β- D- glucopyranoside. Conclusion: The compound 1 and 2 were isolated from Epimedium genus plant for the first time and the compound 3,4 and 6 were isolated from this plant for the first time.
