An Integrated Algorithm of Queue Management and Queue Scheduling

Abstract

Queues Management and Scheduling is important in the network processing. Because of the shortcoming of traditional research of queue algorithm which is divided into queue management and queue scheduling respectively, this paper presents an algorithm that integrates the two kinds of mechanism. The goal of this algorithm is to get the best tradeoff between throughput and delay, and the method of optimization decision is used to adjusts the bandwidth allocation according to the rate of source and the length of queue. Massive simulation experiments are carried out with NS2 platform, the results show that the performance of the algorithm is enhanced nearly 20% compared to the traditional algorithm according to the criterion of network performance formula (Power formula). Therefore, this algorithm can improve the performance of network processing more efficiently.
