Abstract
Objective To study changes of nitric oxide (NO) and endothelin (ET) in the plasma and ascitic fluid and tanshionon for treatment of cirrhosis and spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP). Methods Seventy-five patients with SBP,randomimental group (group A,n=38) were given tanshionon and treated routine, and group B (n=37) with treated routine.NO and ET were measured by the methods in all patients and after the treatment.Group C(n=35) was cirrhotic patients without SBP. Results Serum and ascitic fluid NO and ET levels were high in patients with SBP as compared with those without SBP,and SBP patients NO and ET levels from ascitic fluid were superior to those from serum (P0.01). The levels of NO and ET decreased for treatment group B significant difference (P0.01). Conclusion Comparing detection of NO and ET levels from ascitic fluid is helpful to diagnosing SBP and evaluating the efficacy. Therapeutical effect posse of tanshinon in SBP.
