Abstract
Echinocandins are a new class of antifungus drugs. The drugs act at the level of the fungal cell wall. The echinocandins have activity against all Candida and Aspergillus species, and have proved to be quite safe.Three echinocandins, including caspofungin, micafungin, and anidulafungin, are currently available and received approved labeling from the Food and Drug Administration. This paper summarizes the mechanism of action, antimicrobial activity, pharmacokinetics, clinical application, dosage, drug interaction, and adverse reaction.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
