Abstract

China is a country with imbalanced regional development, principally between the coastal area and inland area. Ahead to the new century, China has entered a new stage in socio-economic development. While the world economy is being restructured, the West China development strategy was implemented and China has acceded to WTO. In such context, new features will appear in the regional economic development between the coastal area and inland China. 
