Abstract
Objective To examine the efficacy of bracketless and invisible orthodontic system in treating adult patients of Angle class I with mild to moderate crowding. Methods The sample included 31 adult patients of Angle Class I malocclusion with mild to moderate crowding. All the patients were treated with bracketless and invisible appliances, for whom some additional measures such as arch expansion,IPR or single lower incisor extraction were designed respectively.During the treatment, patients were instructed to change aligners sequentially every two weeks and visit the doctor every 4~6 weeks. Results All the 31 patients completed orthodontic treatment with satisfying outcomes, presenting straight teeth, closed space, correct midline(except the cases with single lower incisor extraction),normal overbite and overjet and maintained neutral molar relationship. The treatment span was 8~14 months. Conclusion The bracketless and invisible orthodontic system has affirmative efficacy for adult patients of Angle class I malocclusion with mild to moderate crowding.
