Effects of Shenfu injection on cardiac function and brain natriuretic peptide in patients with heart failure

Objective To investigate effects and clinical value of Shenfu injection on cardiac function and brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) in patients with heart failure.Methods Eighty-seven patients with heart failure were divided into Shenfu injection treatment group (46 cases) and control group(41 cases).Besides the routine treatment performed in the control group,the treatment group was given Shenfu injection.The cardiac functional parameters and BNP levels of the two groups were detected,analyzed and compared pre-treatment and after a course treatment.Results The cardiac functional parameters and BNP levels in the two groups showed no obvious difference before treatment (all P0.05).After a course treatment,compared with the control group,the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter,left ventricular end systolic diameter,left ventricular ejection fraction,and the BNP level increased markedly in the treatment group (all P0.05).Conclusion Shenfu injection can improve cardiac function and reduce cardiac structure remodeling.
