Grammatical Characteristics of Measure Words in Chongqing Dialect

Abstract
Chongqing dialect has its unique grammatical characteristics. From its formation, one can see that besides single syllable measure words and double syllable measure words, there are overlapped measure words. Observed from the change of formation, some measure words have suffixes “zi”and “er”. The latter has a grammatical meaning. The structure of measure words has also morphological changes. For example, there is an inffix “shi” and “da” meaning great quantity. [
