Study on the relationship between serum Leptin leve and polycystic ovary syndrome

Objective:To study the relationship of serum Leptin level and PCOS patients.Methods:Serum Leptin and sex hormone were determined in 68 patients with PCOS and 32 contrary subjects,and simultaneously do carbohydrate tolerance test and insulin releasing test.Results:The value of serum Leptin level in PCOS group were much higher than those in the contrary group(P0.05);The value of serum LH,T,PRL,FSH,A4 in PCOS group were obviously different from those in the contrary group(P0.05),in contrast,serum E2 show unclear distinction(P0.05).The value of T and A4 are much diverse from fat group and the contrary group in PCOS(P0.05),the rest have no statistical significance.There are positive correlation between Leptin and FINS(r=0.726,P0.01),IR(r=0.631,P0.01),AUC(r=0.518,P0.01),ISI(r=0.663,P0.05).Conclusion:Leptin may participate occurrence and development of PCOS,there is a close relationship between insulin resistance and Hyperinsulinemia.
