Nursing of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for gas gangrene patients in earthquake

Abstract

Objective To discuss the nursing of hyperbaric oxygen(HBO)combined theatment on gas gangrene.Method Nineteen cases with gas gangrene wrer treated by HBO after surgical combined treatment.And giving special nursing.Results None of 19 cases was dead.Only 2 of 17 amputated cases were done again.No windage,oxygen intoxication and cross-infection.Conclusion HBO combined treatment could maximally diminish the areas of necrotic tissues,save the limbs and reduce the amputation rate.Amputated patients also can avoid the possibility of being reamputated.Giving special nursing can prevente HBO complications.
