On Zhang-Zhidong's Thought of Confucianism

Abstract

Zhang Zhidong was an influential scholar in the history of the thought of Confucianism in post-Qing dynasty.He has entered into the court by means of Confucianism.Firstly he was inclined to the ancient works and admired for the classical Confucianism in Song dynasty,then proposed to combine them together.Furthermore,his thought of Confucianism has been reflected in the thought of Westernized Chinese Style.All in all,his thought of Confucianism has taken a significant position in the scholastic history of the post-Qing dynasty.
