Abstract
Objective:To summarize the clinical application experience of the laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal prosthesis(TEP).Methods:There was a retrospective anlysis on the clinical data of 22 patients with inguinal hernia including 17 cases of indirect inguinal hernia,5 cases of direct inguinal hernia, and 4 cases of bilateral hernia who underwent TEP from Feb.2008 to Apr.2010.Results:All the operations were performed successfully. The mean operating duration was 52 minutes for unilateral hernia and 98 minutes for bilateral hernia. The mean postoperative hospital stay was 3.5 days,5 cases of scrotum hematoma occurred. There was no recurrence and chronic pain for followed-up 6-18 months. Conclusions:The procedure of TEP is feasible, safe, effective for inguinal hernia and it's worth widely popularizing.
