Abstract
This paper introduces the effect of Fluid seals on rotor stability. And generalization of rotor stability analysis based on bulk fluid model and CFD analysis is given. The control of rotor dynamics using seal structural design is described. There are two ways to develop rotor/seal stability research in the future, one is to develop computational technology of fluid flow in seals and rotor dynamic characteristics, another is to improve rotor dynamic characteristics by using seal stiffness and damping in seal design.
