Abstract

To investigate the etiology,clinical manifestation and the diagnosis and treatment of bladder leiomyoma,we retrospectively reviewed the medical records of eight patients diagnosed bladder leiomyoma at our department from 2000 to 2010.Bladder leiomyoma predominately occurred in female and usually was presented with obstructive urinary symptoms,irritative symptoms,hematuria,or flank pain while some might be asymptomatic.Ultrasound was feasible for early diagnosis while more exact diagnosis was dependent on cystoscopy or biopsy.Most patients were treated with open resection,while some certain cases could be treated with transurethral resection(TUR).
