Abstract

To estimate aerobic capacity of cyclist after three different incremental exercises on a cycle ergometer.40 cyclists (19 females and 21 males) performed three different incremental exercises (3-minute step test,1-minute step test and ramp test) to exhaustion on a cycle ergometer.Maximal oxygen uptake(O2max),maximal heart rate(HRmax)and respiratory quotient(RQ)were observed by Jaeger's oxycon movement heart and lungs function instrument and blood lactic acid(Lac)was tested at rest,4 minutes after exercise. The results indicated that there was no significant difference of O2max and HRmax(P0.05)during three exercise process. These findings suggest that aerobic capacity of cyclist can be equally and experimentally evaluated by three tests on a cycle ergometer.
