Abstract
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of an integrative treatment,heat-sensitive moxibustion plus acupuncture injection,in managing hemifacial plasm.Method A hundred and twenty patients were randomized into an observation group,an acupuncture-moxibustion group, and an acupoint injection group to receive corresponding treatment. The therapeutic effects in the three groups were evaluated.Result The total effective rate was 92.5% in the observation group, versus 62.5% in the acupuncture-moxibustion group, and 70.0% in the acupoint injection group. It showed P0.01 when the observation group was compared with the latter two groups, and it showed P0.05 when the latter two groups were compared with each other. Conclusion The total effective rate was significantly higher in the observation group than in the acupuncture-moxibustion group and acupoint injection group.
