Abstract

Objective:To investigate the fate of the fibrous capsule caused by silicone gel after it being transplanted.Methods:Silicone gels were put under the skin of four legs in 20 SD rats,and 1 month later the silicone gel was removed and the fibrous capsule was left in the site or transplanted in the other site.Their histological traits,fibrous structure and the rate of the resorbtion was studied respectively on 3 days,2 weeks,1 month,3 months.Results:The intensity,thickness and positive area were decreased as the time relapsed.The resorption rate was lower in the transplant group than the group which still remained in the same site,their difference was significant(P0.05).The lowest resorption group was which capsule diced.There was significant difference when compared with the other 4 groups.Conclusion:Silicone gel as the foreign body can induce the formation of the fibrous capsule,which can be transplanted as a autogenous graft.Breast capsule caused by the breast implant are needless to be removed together with the implant.
