Abstract
Objective To analyze the effectiveness of antithymocyte globulin(ATG) in treatment of 25 children with aplastic anemia.Methods Patients with aplastic anemia were treated with ATG,supplemented with cyclosporine A and andrin.Results The results showed that there was a response rate of 72%(18/25) including cure of 3 cases,complete response(CR) 6 cases and partial response(PR) 9 cases.Thirteen of 17 cases(76.5%) with severe aplastic anemia(SAA) responded well to the therapy.The effective rate was not related to SAA subtype,gender,age,reticulocytes,neutrophilic granulocyte,blood platelet count(BPC) and proliferation degree before the treatment,but related to the course of disease.Conclusion ATG therapy for aplastic anemia is effective and safe in this study.
