Abstract
Microbial fuel cells( MFCs) are devices that transform chemical energy in organic matters into electrical energy with microorganisms as the catalysts. Based on the basic principles of MFCs,this review summarizes different influencing factors on the output power of MFCs reported in various studies, including the catalytic activity of anode biocatalyst, substrates, materials and configuration of the anode, electron acceptors of the cathode, materials and areas of the membrane, electrode spacing and operation conditions.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
