Research on Integrated Land Use Zoning in Jiangsu Province based on Regional Strategy

The purpose of this paper is to put forward the definition and method for integrated regional land zoning based on a case study of Jiangsu Province,which aims to provide scientific basis for regional land use planning and rural-urban development.Three methods were employed in the paper.First is to conduct comprehensive land zoning based on combining the principal component analysis with spatial clustering.Second is to determine land use guarantee regions for the application of regional development strategy using deductive method.The third is that through spatial superimposition to establish overall land use regionalization in Jiangsu Province.The results indicate that four regions and seven sub-regions of integrated land use in Jiangsu Province have been determined.It is concluded that(1) regional integrated land use should combine current and future conditions;(2)integrated land use zoning should be considered as the spatial basis for planners;(3)the integrated zoning is an integration of land use division and land use function classification;(4)the integrated zoning belongs to the traditional zoning with new characteristic of land use function classification.
